International Week – Exit Points

All around the world at Southbridge! – International Exit Points.

After one week of deep study for their Unit of Inquiry, where every Primary and Early Years class had a different country assigned to them, students and teachers selected one aspect to investigate and explore further. This all culminated in an Exit Point which was held at the end of the week, where children were able to showcase what they had achieved and interact with other classes for peer learning to happen. Parents and other school staff were also invited to participate in this event, in order to see the children’s learning journey. This style of collaborative learning and community engagement is important in the inquiry-based methodology.
Early Years students dressed in Kimonos from Japan, did the Hula from Hawaii, and restored the Greek Empire! Our Primary classes made guests dance for their Ukrainian supper, took us on a tour of Paris to eat cheese and see the Eiffel tower, guided visitors to complete their own Indonesian Batik paintings, and brought to life the sights and scenes from a street in Istanbul!
