Summary
The Secondary Years Coordinator plays a key leadership role in supporting the Principal in the administration, supervision, and development of the school’s academic and extracurricular programs. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure the school maintains high academic standards while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Secondary Years Coordinator will work closely with faculty, students, parents, and the broader school community to uphold the school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities

1.    Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development

    1. Assist in overseeing curriculum implementation, ensuring alignment with international education standards.
    2. Support teachers in instructional strategies, lesson planning, and professional development.
    3. Monitor student academic performance and develop intervention programs as needed.
    4. Coordinate standardized assessments and analyze results to inform school improvement strategies.
    5. Assist in maintaining accreditation standards and compliance with educational regulations.

2.    Student Development & Behavior Management

    1. Establish and maintain a positive and safe school culture that promotes student well-being and success.
    2. Implement and oversee student discipline policies in alignment with school guidelines.
    3. Address student behavioral concerns and work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents for effective resolutions.
    4. Promote student engagement through extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and student programs.
  1. Faculty & Staff Support
    1. Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating faculty and staff.
    2. Provide mentorship and guidance to teachers to enhance their professional growth.
    3. Encourage a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
    4. Organize and lead faculty meetings and professional development sessions.
  2. Administrative & Operational Support
    1. Support the Principal in managing school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    2. Assist with safety and emergency preparedness procedures.
    3. Assist in developing school policies and ensuring their effective implementation.
    4. Serve as Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal.
  3. Parent & Community Engagement
    1. Act as a liaison between the school and parents, addressing concerns and fostering strong relationships.
    2. Organize parent-teacher conferences and school-wide events.
    3. Promote the school’s vision and values within the broader community.
    4. Collaborate with external organizations for student enrichment programs.
Preferred Qualifications, Experience, and Qualities
  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field, or Bachelor’s Degree in Education with additional training, credential, or experience in school administration.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional classroom teaching experience; 2 years of prior leadership experience at the level of head of faculty, department head, etc.
  • Experience with the Cambridge International Education curriculum and Cambridge Examinations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to international child safeguarding and child protection standards.
  • Experience with developing school-wide timetables and using timetabling software.
  • Strong understanding of international education systems and curricula.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and data analysis.
  • Creative, innovative and able to solve problems by “thinking outside of the box”.
