The Primary School Coordinator assists the Principal in overseeing the academic, administrative, and disciplinary functions of the primary school. This role involves managing essential operations to ensure smooth school management, fostering a positive learning environment, and maintaining high educational standards, in alignment with the mission of Southbridge International School Cambodia.
Responsibilities
Academic Oversight
- Lesson Plan Review and Feedback
Review teachers’ lesson plans regularly to ensure they meet curriculum requirements and provide constructive feedback to enhance teaching quality. - Course Outline Management
Oversee the preparation and distribution of course outlines, ensuring they align with the curriculum and meet the learning objectives of each grade level. - Student Interviews
Conduct interviews with students to assess their academic performance and recommend appropriate class placements. Discuss academic progress, behavioural concerns, and personal issues, offering guidance to support their success.
School Operations and Timetable Management
- Timetable Creation
In consultation with the Principal, develop and manage the school timetable, ensuring efficient resource use and proper allocation of teaching staff. - Duty Roster Management
Create and manage the duty roster for teachers and staff, ensuring all areas of the school are adequately supervised and responsibilities are fairly distributed. - Attendance Monitoring
Monitor and review both student and staff attendance records, ensuring accuracy and addressing any absenteeism issues promptly.
Disciplinary and Behavioural Management
- Student Behaviour and Discipline
Address student disciplinary issues, working closely with teachers and parents to implement behavioural improvement plans. - Teacher Discipline
Assist the Principal in managing teacher disciplinary matters, ensuring adherence to school policies and maintaining a professional environment.
Parent and Community Engagement
- Parent Meetings
Recommend and organise meetings with parents to discuss student performance, behavioural concerns, or other relevant issues, fostering effective communication between school and home.
Administrative Support and Communication
- Consultation and Scheduling
Schedule meetings with teachers, staff, and parents after consulting with the Principal to ensure all meetings align with school priorities. - Administrative Assistance to the Principal
Support the Principal with various administrative tasks such as staff evaluations, coordinating school events, and planning professional development initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
