Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Instruction
- Develop and implement comprehensive art lessons that align with learning objectives and curriculum standards.
- Teach a variety of artistic media, including graphite, charcoal, oil, acrylic, and water color.
- Integrate elements of design and modern art principles into instruction.
- Provide differentiated instruction to cater to students’ diverse artistic abilities and learning needs.
- Guide students in the proper care and use of artistic tools, materials, and equipment.
Classroom & Resource Management
- Maintain an organized and well-equipped art classroom, ensuring proper storage and use of materials.
- Supervise students’ use of tools and equipment to ensure safety and prevent misuse.
- Manage and requisition art supplies, instructional materials, and relevant resources.
Student Assessment & Development
- Monitor and evaluate students’ artistic progress, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Prepare and maintain student progress reports and assessment records.
- Organize and curate art exhibitions and displays to showcase students’ work within the school and community.
Professional Development & Collaboration
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Participate in curriculum development, extracurricular programs, and school events, such as after-school art clubs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance the overall art and design program.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field, with a recognized teaching qualification.
- Prior experience teaching art and design, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Proficiency in various artistic techniques and media.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a creative and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- A flexible and supportive teaching approach, with a commitment to student development.
- Willingness to participate in occasional school events beyond regular working hours.
