Southbridge is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) School for Grade 6 to Grade 10.
Students will use these devices in class to enhance their learning through use of different types of digital resources and will also learn how to be a responsible digital citizen.
Key Information:
- Laptops are compulsory from Grade 6 onwards
- 2-in-1 devices are acceptable only if they have a dedicated physical keyboard
- Tablets, such as Ipads, are not suitable
- Southbridge International School Cambodia accepts no liability for damage or loss to student owned laptops. Students must follow school guidelines for carrying, transporting, charging, storing and using laptops.

This laptop is for school and the specifications above are sufficient for your child’s needs at Southbridge. There is no need to buy a more powerful/expensive laptop with capacity for gaming.
Other operating systems, such as Mac OS or Chrome OS, are also acceptable though the school prefers Windows.
Guidance for Parents
- Install parental controls to help you control screen time whilst at home
- Build a routine so that the laptop must be charging and left in a public space at home every night
- Create a workspace in an area where you can see your child work
- Do not let children take devices into the bedroom when it is time to sleep
